Dr. Shedan was born in Parkersburg, WV in 1958. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from The Ohio State University in 1980, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Tuskegee University in 1984. Dr. Shedan has been a small animal practitioner for 33 years in various locations, and his main areas of interest are Dermatology and Internal Medicine.
He relocated to the Ohio area to be close to his son James, daughter in law Kaitlynne, and his grandchildren Vincent and Olivia.
Dr. Shedan is very passionate about animal welfare, and also possesses deep concern about people.
Outside the work place he is an avid sport fan, particularly of the Oakland Raiders. He also follows the Boston Celtics and Tampa Bay Rays. He enjoys photography, travel, bowling, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
Dr. Hradil, DVM
I was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, with a deep passion for all animals. Early exposure to animals turned into a life-long career and caring for animals. From 1985 to 1992 I was a Veterinary Assistant at Craver Animal Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. I graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor degree in the sciences in 1992. I then graduated from Ross University in New York, New York in 1996. I am currently at Ebert Animal Hospital and glad to be a part of the Pet Vet Ohio family. I enjoy nature walks in the park, listening to good music, and singing in my church choir.
Dr. Scott Pawling, DVM
Dr. Scott Pawling grew up in New York, and has one younger brother. He is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and dedicated many years to practicing in shelters before coming onboard full time at Brunswick Animal Hospital. He spends his free time with his daughter, Maren; a cat; and two shelter dogs named Samantha and Wilma.
Dr. John L. Owen, DVM
Dr. Owen, a native of the Akron, Ohio area, joined the US Army after high school. He proudly served in Desert Storm, winning the National Defense Service ribbon. Once honorably discharged, he graduated from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine and started practicing with his father, Dr. Terry Owen. In 2007, he opened the doors to Howland Community Animal Hospital. This practice has a keen appreciation for orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, including knee and upper-airway surgery for canines and felines.
Originally from Rhode Island, in 2001, Dr. Caires obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture at Purdue University, along with a minor in Biology and Animal Science. He attended Ross University where he completed his veterinary degree in 2005. He completed his clinical studies at the University of Georgia.
Married in 2008, Dr. Caires lives with his wife, Jaclyn, their daughters Eva, Kyla, Cora and along with their cat Pandora and dog Kelly.
Dr. Caires main interest is in surgery, dentistry, ultrasound and laproscopy surgery. He is one of our doctors that travels to all our locations to assist in surgery and in doing dentals and dental procedures. Dr. Caires also will do ultrasounds at our hospitals to aid in diagnostics. We hope that you get to meet him soon.
His other interests include the outdoors and working on his home.
